Li Xiaowei comes from Handan, Hebei Province, China. She received her B.S. from Northwest A & F University, Yangling, Shaanxi, P. R. China in 2009 and now she is a PhD student majoring in Agricultural insects and pest management . She joined Tony’s lab in August 2012 as a visiting PhD student and will stay for two years. Her research focuses on the reproductive biology of thrips, the mechanisms of parthenogenesis and sex determination in the haplodiploid thrips, and the functions of parthenogenesis in population dynamics.
